Chicago Restaurant – Speakeasy design theme
A restaurant designed in remodeled space on the ground floor of an historic masonry building, with a design theme similar in feel to old Speakeasy precedents. A small addition on the side of the building provides vestibule and entry space for the restaurant. The palette of materials and crisp detailing allow the restaurant to create a separate identity from the rest of the building.

Exterior View – The large frameless plate glass front of the restaurant, framed within the building’s original cast iron columns and lintels, create a sense of elegance.
Interior View – The spare, black and white interior reflects the owner’s desire to create something of a speakeasy atmosphere. The only color accent is the deep red of the ductwork at the ceiling.
