Historic Renovation
A large brick home, built in the 1880’s in Chicago, that had fallen into disrepair, was completely renovated and the interior remodeled. All of the exterior brick was cleaned and tuckpointed, the distinctive front porch was completely removed and reconstructed, and all of the original windows were replaced with high performance historically accurate new windows.

Hunckler master sitting – The master bedroom suite was remodeled with a shallow arched ceiling. Custom cabinets, made of pear wood, separate the sitting room from the master bath. “Clerestory” glass windows above the cabinetry allows the line of the ceiling to continue from one room to the next.
Hunckler master bath – Custom pear wood cabinets with marble counters back up to the wall separating the bath from the sitting room.
Hunckler Front right – All of the exterior brick and limestone was cleaned and tuckpointed. All original windows were replaced with new high performance double hung windows. The front porch was removed and completely reconstructed.
Hunckler kitchen – The kitchen was redone and enlarged, with custom cabinets and granite counters.
